I - UNITY OF LABOUR

(i)The working class and the labour world: Unity or fragmentation?

- New type of trade union organisations?

- Relation between trade unions and the whole of the labour world (contract labour, unemployed).

- Relation between trade unions and the social movements.

(ii) Solidarity N/S and trade union’s internationalism.

2 - THE AGRARIAN QUESTION

(i) The peasant agriculture (2/3 time).

Access to land, agrarian reforms, political economy of peasant agriculture.

(ii) Globalisation of agriculture (1/3 time).

Food sovereignty, agro fuels, WTO.

3 - DEMOCRACY, EQUALITY, RIGHTS, CULTURE, ETHIC

DEMOCRATISATION ASSOCIATED WITH SOCIAL PROGRESS.

(i) The concept of Democracy.

Limits and crisis of representative democracy.

- democratisation and management of enterprises.

- democratisation and macro political economy of the state.

(ii) Democratisation and women’s rights.

(iii) Non commodity fundamental rights – education, health, social security.

(iv) Mass communication and medias.

(v) Cultural pluralism, religions, languages, ethnicity.

4WORLD ECONOMIC ORDER.

(i) A review of the critiques of the standing institutions ( WB, IMF, WTO, EU, OECD).

The alternative : autonomisation of large regions and nations.

(ii) The crisis of the world financial order and the new orientations of the system.

(iii) Socialised property of natural resources

- Access to the people of the South to world resources.

- Claim for a globalised management of resources for a secured future.

5 - INTERNATIONAL WORLD ORDER

(i) The struggle against the unipolar imperialist globalisation (confined to USA or the enlarged group of the triad). Regionalised multipolar alternative.

(ii) International Rights.

War and Peace, nations’s security, terrorism and state terrorism.

6 - REGIONALISATION AND INTEGRATION

(i) Strategic vision: the anti-imperialist regionalisations as alternatives to imperialist globalisation.

(ii) Regional surveys of problems and proposals.

Asia (Asian, Shangai Group etc.)

Arab world

Africa

Latin America and Caraibes, (Alba etc.)

Europe : For an “Another Europe”.

(iii) Articulation of regions in a new world system, institutions to conceive.

7 - ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND POLITICAL TRANSITION

(i) Functions of political organisations: democratic political power, relations with parties and movements.

Long term targets and stages. The debate “organisation versus spontaneity”.

(ii) The economic and social dimension: Reforms and revolutionary advances, immediate and mid-term targets.

(ii) Function of State and regional organisations.

8 – WORLD FORUM FOR ALTERNATIVES – WFA

-Functions and aims, strategy on how to build up WFA.
